Etah is a city and municipal Borad in the Etah Block Etah Tehsil in the District of Etah. It is situated on Delhi-Kanpur National Highway about 207 Kms. away from Delhi. Etah is also known for the war of first independane of 1857 as one of it's centre. It is also famous for Kachhala- a bank of Ganga in Soron. A festival known as Shooker Mahotsava is celebrated here which is also very famous among near by cities. The markets of Kasganj is also very famous.

Etah was known as "Aintha" in earlier times was when the king of Awagarh going for hunting in the forest, he saw a fox who is chasing 2 dogs thats why he gave the name of this place "Aintha". There is a very famous Gurukul Vidyalaya and a hostorical fort of Awagarh abouth 24 Kms from here.

Etah is a major center for agricultural trade in the district. The fertile plains between the Ganges and the area to the south-west are used for extensive cultivation; wheat, cotton and sugarcane form the major crops. The Upper and Lower Ganges canals irrigate the area. Places of tourist interest include Soron and Patna Bird Sanctuary. Nearest airport is at Agra.     well the history u mentioned was incomplete if u dont mention the jewel of urdu literature that this place gave in form of Amir khusro , hindi poet tulsidas was born here ...............i mean literature laurels were toilled from this great soil .
