This is considered very sacred to the locals and people spend the night of Amavasya by sleeping in the temple premises with the belief that god will come and bless them. Darshan will take more than 3 hrs on such days (Special darshan Rs.100/- will take 1 - 1.5 hrs). You do not have any shops on the hill top. You need to gather all your puja items from the foot hill only. Traditionally, you take a dip in the Koneru, then visit the Moolavirat and then go to "Moodu Gudulu" and then camp for the night. There is also a hotel where you can get some eateries at a premium price. Devasthanam provides only changing sheds on the hill top.
