One of the few remaining transporter bridges in the world. A transporter bridge was a marvelous combination of a bridge, a trolley, and a cable-supported gondola. Can't quite picture it? Check out the pictures linked from the Wikipedia article, or better, those at: www.freewebs.com/wartran/index.htm (that's the same site linked as "Friends Group" in the article, but without having to go through a forwarder).
