Completed in 1997, this 32-storey freehold office building is wholly owned by Tower Real Estate Investment Trust (www.tower-reit.com.my/) which bought it for RM221 million in 2006. Menara HLA (formerly known as Wisma Kia Peng) is one of the high-end office buildings with the ultimate address and the office space is highly sought after by many big corporations. The tenants are majorly from finance and insurance industry. It formerly served as the head office for Hong Leong Assurance, thus the name Menara HLA.

Due to its location, Menara HLA frequently recorded an average 90% occupancy rate every year. It has a total net lettable area of 396,820 sf with average typical floor plate of 12,500 sf. It is served by a total of 723 parking bays in 4-level basement car park. Even though Menara HLA is already more than a decade old, it is well-maintained. It uses good quality granite for its facade and polished granite slabs for the entrance lobby on the ground floor and all the office lifts. Besides that, it also features triple ceiling high main entrance lobby with glass panels to add the grandeur feeling.

    I'm one of the Architects of that building in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Our boss in that project is Mr. Huang & Arch, Michael Chong. The name of our office is Akipraktis Chartered Architect in Jalan, Ipoh. The contractor of that building is Kumagai. I did the pyramid details of the rooftop on that build before I left Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia because their economy is down so the company decided to reduced the manpower & the priority would be the expatriate like us. Lucky me at that time because after a month a well know consulting firm in Al-Khobar hired me! I still have a few floor plan & rooftop details of that plans included in my portfolio. :P
