The intersection of Pines Boulevard (State Road 820) and Flamingo Road (State Road 823) Intersection was given the title "The Most Dangerous Intersection in the Nation" in 2000-2001 according to State Farm Insurance and has subsequently won the accolade in many succeeding years. The intersection is bordered by CB Smith Park to the northwest, Pembroke Lakes Mall to the Northeast, Flamingo Pines Plaza to the southwest, and Pembroke Crossings on the Southeast. It is a typical 6-lane by 6-lane, 4-way intersection that you see in several locations in South Florida.
