 apartment building, 1887_construction

5-story Neo-Grec residential building completed in 1887. It is clad in brownstone, painted a light-brown color, and rough-faced on the ground floor and basement level. A small stoop leads up to the central entrance with a paneled wood door. The stoop has pale red-painted iron handrails and fencing extends around the areaways on either side. Two pilasters on paneled bases, with brackets supporting a cornice, frame the doorway. To either side is a large window with a full stone surround, and below these are basement windows.

The upper floors have four bays of single-windows with full stone surrounds, including bracketed sills and cornices. A metal fire escape painted pale-red runs down the west two bays, and another is shared by the matching, neighboring building on the east, covering the end bay. The facade is topped by a paneled parapet where a cornice originally stood.
