  • This is one of the housing options for foreign Temple University Japan students studying abroad. The other choice, besides living with a host family, is The Green House in Minowa Ward. For any American students who plan on going to TUJ for a semester or more, I highly suggest living at the Weekly Mansion here in Akasaka. It's a great central location, only a 15 bike-ride to TUJ and conveniently located along the Chiyoda Line. The building staff is very respectful of privacy and amenities (such is the Japanese way). The only thing they might ask of you is to keep the noise down late in the night (don't forget, this is a hotel). The building itself is probably 15 or 20 years old - not brand new, not run-down either. There are washers and dryers on the first floor, high-speed internet in every room, and balconies overlooking AMAZING views of Akasaka. If you are the type of kid who likes to party, Roppongi is a 5 minute walk away. Although it's notorious as a late-night party district, the Roppongi scene has been historically a district for foreigners (and still is to this day). Drinks are expensive, the Nigerian men on the street are rude, and you'll hardly find any authentic Japanese scenesters partying there. However, it's a good place for American kids who don't feel like exploring and want easy access to nightlife. Again, Temple University students, DO live at the Weekly Mansion ! You won't regret it!
