Originally known as Injun Joe's Cave, it opened at noon on Saturday June 16, 1956.
Injun Joe's Cave is actually an above-ground building covered with earth and landscaping to give the illusion of descending into a cave.
The "caves" were closed in February 2007, for a remodel as the "dark and mysterious caverns of Dead Man's Grotto". The attration reopened in June 2007.
