 railway station  Add category

One of four stations on the London monopoly board game. Fenchurch Street is a railway station in the south eastern corner of the City of London close by the Tower of London.

Uniquely for a rail terminus in central London, it does not have a direct link to the London Underground. A second entrance at Crosswall (also known as the Tower entrance) is near to Tower Hill tube station and Tower Gateway DLR station. Aldgate tube station is also nearby. It is one of seventeen UK railway stations managed by Network Rail. Over 16 million people pass in and out of Fenchurch Street each day.

The station has 4 elevated platforms, and is the terminus of the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway, a collection of commuter lines to Barking, Thurrock, Basildon and Southend-on-Sea.

  • Fenchurh Street, not Sreet
  • FENCHURCH Street , not Fenchurh Street
  • This is not the main station for Essex, that is Liverpool Street's job. Fenchurch Street only serves the southern part of it on the line to Southend and Shoeburyness. It is the smallest London terminal.
