First Niagara Pavilion

USA / Pennsylvania / Burgettstown / PA Route 18, 665
 amphitheatre  Add category

The First Niagara Pavilion (originally known as Coca-Cola Starlake Amphitheater) is the premier outdoor concert venue in western Pennsylvania, and hosts many popular musicians and bands every year. Located off U.S. 22 just north of Burgettstown, the amphitheater's location is convenient not only for Pittsburghers and other people from western Pennsylvania, but also for people from the panhandle of West Virginia and eastern Ohio, particularly the Weirton and Steubenville areas.

The venue holds approximately 23,000 fans: 7,100 in a reserved seating open-air pavilion and an additional 16,000 on the lawn. After a free "shakedown" show featuring local acts, the venue opened with a performance by Billy Joel on June 17, 1990.

While an excellent summer concert venue, the pavilion is notorious for its single entrance/exit onto Route 18. After-concert traffic jams in the parking lot are legendary.

Quite possibly one of the best venues for an outdoor concert, just so long as the fickle Western PA weather holds out.
