This facility serves as a terminal for several commodities that are produced in the northern Minnesota and Wisconsin. More information can be found at www.hallettdock.com During the 1970s or 80s the property was designated a Superfund site by the EPA thanks to pollution left behind by now-defunct businesses that operated on the site before Hallett arrived on scene. The ensuing cleanup of the site meant filling in Hallett's vessel loading/unloading slip. Hallett transferred its marine business to two docksites downstream but kept this property - they use it to handle materials coming and going by truck and rail.
The site also housed the equipment used on the Lake Superior and Mississippi Scenic Railroad.
