City of Venezuela, located in Anzoategui State, municipality Anaco. known as "the heart gas fields of Venezuela." It is located at 220 m altitude, on a table that spans eastern High Plains. It is a nodal point of the road between Puerto La Cruz and El Tigre and Ciudad Bolivar and Maturin and Aragua de Barcelona. It has benefited since 1942 from oil, which it supports with its various supply industry, services and trade.

Currently Anaco City is divided in 105 sectors.

It's distribution center for oil and natural gas, being head of the New National Gas Network. In its area of influence are important farming corn, sorghum and cattle. In its place arose the missions seat of Santa Barbara (1734) and Santa Ana de Anaco (1735), which later formed the city. Population (2009), 131,684 inhabitants
