Strescon Limited manufactures a range of precast prestressed concrete products, concrete pipe, manholes, and ready mix concrete.

Founded in 1956 by KC Irving as the concrete division of Ocean Steel & Construction (OSCO), Strescon Limited was incorporated in 1963 when the concrete operations were relocated to an unused National Defense building on Ashburn Lake Road after the original Chesley Street plant burned down.

The former No. 7 Area Ordnance Depot was opened in February 1943 and included a 36,000 sq. ft. warehouse and a 48,000 sq. ft. workshop. Operated by the Royal Canadian Ordnance Corps and later by the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineer Corps, the depot was relocated to Camp Gagetown in 1957.

Soon after the acquisition of the property Strescon constructed a modern concrete plant (1964), a rebar plant (1967)and a Redimix plant (1968). Over the years the plant has been continuously expanded including a new pipe plant (2002) and a new rebar plant erected on the former MacKay lumber property acquired in 2005.
