Reservoir No.2 is a man-made reservoir located in the north-western section of the city along the Eastchester border. Constructed in 1892, the reservoir is impounded by the New Rochelle Reservoir #2 Dam on the Hutchinson River. The dam is masonry and of earthen construction, with a height of 25 feet and a length of 550 feet. It has a water area of about 18.3 acres and a capacity of about 37,000,000 gallons. Maximum discharge is 800 cubic feet per second. The reservoir is owned by the City Of New Rochelle.

Reservoir No.2 lies approximately .1 miles below Reservoir No. 1. The water from this reservoir, and from Reservoir No.3, is pumped at a pumping station located at the southern end of reservoir No. 2 into the mains of the high service system which supplies the hilly, northern portions of New Rochelle.
