There seemed to be a thing for giganticism in 1930s Stamford Hill. This Guinness estate faces the LCC's Stamford Hill Estate and was built in 1932 (four years before the LCC's estate, so maybe this set the trend). In spite of the seeming bleakness of the nine identical ranked blocks (seven shown here), Guinness Trust flats seem to have been highly regarded at the time - perhaps the no-frills approach to the exterior allowed better design of interiors and infrastructure
