This new neighborhood of Jewish Jerusalem was built to the south of the ancient Jewish village of Manahat (Malha) which is mentioned in the Bible.
Occupied by Palestinians after the Jews were evicted from their homeland, Manahat was liberated in 1948 and is today again Jewish.
