The monument is located in the area of ​​the Bendery fortress opposite the former Kaushan gates. A pyramidal obelisk of gray labradorite surmounted by a bronze eagle. The eagle spread its wings symbolizes the valor, courage and heroism of the Russian warriors. An inscription is carved on the obelisk: “Descendants of the valiant ancestors. From the 55th Podolsk Infantry Regiment. Author unknown. Erected in 1912 on the territory of the fortress at the expense of the soldiers and officers of the regiment in honor of the 100th anniversary of the victory of Russian weapons in the Patriotic War of 1812. Since 1967, it stands at a new location, on the Tiraspol-Chisinau highway.
