  • Little Flower Church or "Cherru-pushshpam" Church as it is commonly known(literally translates to "little flower" a name used to refer to the great Catholic St. Teressa of ), Elamkulam. This Catholic Church has started out as a small chapel by the name of "St. Philomena's Chapel" . Legend has it that a certain Bishop had a vision in which St. Teressa appeared to him. This motivated him to build a church with her name in the place of this chapel. Since then, this church has become the city's most visited churches. The present Vicar Fr. John Theykanath (as of 3/3/2007)is a very pious priest and works day in and out for the spiritual well being of the parishioners. The church's present day glory can be credited mainly to the tiresome works of two priests; Fr. John Theykanath and Fr. Sebastian Pynadath, of which most crucial part was played by the latter, the parish's previous vicar. His zealous and often adamant decisions and moves for the church's renovation will never be forgotten by the parishioners.

  • I am An active member a unit in this church. By the grace of god and little flower our unit won 3rd prize on the basis of best units. Second Prize for tableau also the prize for best cosmetics in that tableau, and 3rd prize for crib making competition. thanks for all who cooperate with us.
