Marbo Cave

Guam / Marbo Annex /
 cavern, interesting place

Marbo cave is a hidden spot on the east side of Guam. One of the few fresh water caves (that I've been to at least). Its VERY clear water and also very cold for the island (around 70*F) Some aquatic life such as prawns and eels, but not much other than that. Would be great for some snorkeling, but its pretty small. You will need some lights if you wish to explore. Be warned though. . . you will need an off road vehicle to get down to the cave opening. Its a great place to visit.

  • It was used by the Japanese during WW II to pump fresh water up the hill. The concrete platform was in fairly descent shape in 1978. The walk downhill was fun but after exploring and swimming, the walk back up hill made one think about returning to the cave just to cool off.
