Rivesville Power Plant

Allegheny Power's 142 Megawatt Rivesville Power Plant is relatively small, by modern standards, but it is of historic importance as
the first full-scale power plant to use fluidized-bed combustion. The core of the plant dates back to 1919, and the oldest parts of
the structure may date back to that era. The currently operational turbines at the plant date from 1948 and 1951, and the fluidized
bed boilers are newer still.

The fluidized bed boilers at Riesville were removed in the eighty's. They were installed as a test of the technology and the test had run it's course.
