  • When I think of Pettai the first thing which is coming into my mind is the Tobacco Mall at the bazaar street. The Municipal high School was running in three places in Pettai. One part of the high school was situated inside the tobacco mall and housed four sections of sixth standard and I studied there in section "A". Other parts were just behind the police station and at the Thiripurasndari Amman street. When I studied seventh standard it was moved to the newly built school just west of the Industrial Training Institute. Sekku Medu, Pallivaasal, Meenaakshi Theatre, and the MDT Hindu college are unforgettable in my life even though I live far away in Melbourne in Australia.
