Gaillard Island

Man-made dredge disposal island used for the disposal of dredge materials from the Mobile and Theodore ship channels. Island is also an important bird nesting site for colonial seabird species including brown pelican, laughing gull, royal tern, caspian tern, and sandwich tern.
