On 20 March, 1995, a member of the Aum Shinrikyo cult released sarin on a Naka-Meguro-bound Hibiya Line train while at this station. The packet was kicked out of the train at Kodemmachō Station. The five coordinated attacks on this day killed 12 and injured over 1,000.
