Lake Ouachita

This is one of the most beautiful and cleanest lakes in the nation. It was constructed by the Army Corps. of Engineers (back in the day?). You cannot build on this, but it's great for camping, fishing, boating of any sort, scuba diving [lots of sunken debris, very clear waters ~30ft visibility average, very deep (perhaps +200ft some places), lots of flora/fauna]. Oh yeah, Arkansas is a temperate subtropical environment. Pick your days well. You're just as likely to get sunburned as you are struck by lightning as you are eaten by dog-sized mosquitos and biting flies. Fear the natives. Okay, so I was kidding about the bad stuff - this lake is a gem.
