landmark, tree
A landmark of the University of California, Santa Cruz's upper-campus, this used to be the ninth item on an interpretive trail. Now it is simply known as "Tree 9" and is a destination for visitors. The lower branches were removed somewhere around 2010 to discourage climbing. There are rumors about the university wanting to remove it.
