Originally established as the Manila Aerated Water Factory, CBC is the first softdrinks manufacturer in the country. The Company competes primarily with Coca-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc. (CCBPI), Pepsi-Cola Bottlers Philippines, Inc., (Pepsi-Cola) and Asiawide Refreshment Corporation (ARC), and is the second largest softdrinks company in the Philippines in terms of market share as of December 31, 2007. CBC’s shares of common stock were first listed in the Philippine Stock Exchange in December 1994. On January 3, 2002, Atlantic Industries (AI), a subsidiary of The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), and Philippine Bottlers, Inc. (PBI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of CCBPI, whose ultimate parent company is San Miguel Corporation (SMC) acquired from RFM Corporation (RFM) all of its equity holdings in CBC pursuant to a Share Purchase Agreement signed on November 23, 2001. On February 23, 2007, The Coca Cola Company (TCCC) has become the ultimate parent of CCBPI following the acquisition of the shares of SMC in CCBPI by Coca Cola South East Asia Holdings Inc. (CCSEAH), a wholly owned subsidiary of TCCC. The Company’s branded products available in the domestic market nationwide, are Pop Cola, Sarsi, Cheers Lemon, Orange, Jaz Cola and Sparkle. These products are manufactured using a combination of imported and locally produced ingredients. Sarsi and Sarsi Light are directed to Class A and B markets.
