Duck Harbor Mountain

Duck Harbor Mountain Trail is the most strenuous hike on Isle au Haut, but it also offers some of the most spectacular views. The trail begins steeply through the woods, alternating between switchbacks and brief flat sections on ridges. Views of the rest of Isle au Haut, the island of Vinalhaven, and the mainland can be seen along here. Highlights: Strange rocky knobs called the Puddings; panoramic views atop Duck Harbor Mountain.
