15th September,1963-the Beginning! The dream of all students came true! The biggest technical school in Razgrad region was established-the Vocational Mechanotechnical School.Students from four regions(Razgrad,Rousse,Turgovishte and Silistra) were accepted to study here. Since October,1965 the school has been named after the Hungarian poet and revolutionary Shandor Petioffi.

In 1969 the building of the school was completed-spacious classrooms, several workshops and laboratories, and a big gimnasium.

1984-the year of the Union. The Vocational School of Idustry and the Technical School became one-Automation and Industry Vocational School. The union reflected the new level of technological progress and the changes done in the school curriculum.

1991-Bulgaria entered a new historical period. The country’s educational system had to be reformed in order to be in accordance with the new social and economical situation and also with the European standards.Following the changes in the Educational Bill the school was renamed-it became Vocational Technical School.

The main point in defining the professional structure through the years has been the science and technology innovations. And apart from already established specialities the school has offered some new in the field of the Information Technologies. Now the school has one of the most modern and well-equipped computer bases-six computer and multimedia labs.

Many of school’s former students are now prominent citizens and successful business persons here and abroad.A great number of our pupils has won prizes in various competitions and 28 of them have been accepted in universities even before their school graduation.

Everything changes and so does the school. But there is one thing that cannot be changed-our love and concern for the well-being and the potential’s realization of our students.
