Fuxingao island lies on the Shanghai Yangpu district, at the east shore line of the Huangpu River at the northern edge of Pudong developing belt. It is the city's only island along Huangpu River. A small and rather industrial island with one major street and connects it to the mainland via two small bridges. Total area of the island is 5.3 km2. There is plans to transform this island into a green, ecological paradise.
