The Aviation and Space Park in the town of Omurtag has opened a museum dedicated to aviation and astronautics. The city is the birthplace of the second Bulgarian cosmonaut Aleksandar Aleksandrov, who in June 1988 flew aboard the Soviet spacecraft Soyuz TM-5 together with cosmonauts from the former USSR - Anatoly Yakovlevich Solovyov and Viktor Petrovich Savinih.
An interesting exhibit in the Aviation and Space Park is the "Zvezda" radar.
