Built in 1912 by architect Samuel Maclure for Edward Davis, a prominent Canadian Pacific Railway lawyer, Cecil Green Park was originally named "Kanakla", a West Coast native word meaning 'house on the cliff'. Successive owners named the house "Yorkeen" and "Langara". Now, Cecil Green Park offers a splendid, incomparable setting for business meetings, retreats, weddings, or other social events.

Filming location: "Harper's Island" (2009)
Cecil Green Park House at UBC can be seen throughout the tv show "Harper's Island" as the fictious Candlewick Inn, a mysterious hotel on a remote island in Washington state.
