Former Fells Point Recreation Pier which was designed c. 1914 in the Beaux Arts style by Theodore Wells Pietsch as a social hall for 20th century Baltimore immigrants. The pier had a second life as in film production for the TV Show "Homicide, Life On the Street" and as the set of the Fictional Maryland School for the arts in the blockbuster films "Step Up" and "Step Up 2: the Streets".

A $60mil restoration and renovation by Beatty Harvey Coco Architects in 2017 adaptively reused the existing pier structures into a luxury hotel which anchors the Historical Bar District.
