A donation from John Papafis and was build from the well known, in Thessaloniki, architect Peonidis. The field belonged to Hamdi Bey for the amount of 1698 Turkish Lira. Its construction started in 1894 and ended in 1903.
Since day one worked as an orphanage. From 1912 until 1913 it was used as a military Hospital.
