Macdonald House, was one of the two sites of the Canadian High Commission to the United Kingdom, the other being Canada House at 1 Trafalgar Square. Macdonald Hose was named after Canada's first Prime Minister, Sir John A. Macdonald.

The building formerly housed the U.S. Embassy 1936-1960, until the U.S. completed a new six storey building on the opposite side of Grosvenor Square. On July 1, 1961 Canada moved its administrative, political and trade offices into Macdonald House. The official residence of the High Commissioner was on the upper floors and boasted a large roof-top garden for hosting functions.

As of December 16, 2014 all offices and functions based at Macdonald House were relocated to Canada House Annex, 2-4 Cockspur Street, immediately next door to Canada House.
