Medical College, Vandanam
T. D. Medical College is located on a site of about 145 acres of land at Vandanam, 10 kilometers to the south of Alappuzha town and on the west of National Highway 47.
The college came into existence in 1963 in the private sector sponsored by Kerala Cultural and Educational Society Alappuzha under the agis of Thirumal Devaswom. Later the Kerala Government took over the administration of the college in 1967 temporarily. In 1972 it became the fourth government medical college in the state of Kerala.
It offers undergraduate courses in Medicine, Pharmacy, Laboratory Technology, Radiation Technology and General Nursing. Post Graduate Training is offered in General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dermatology and Pathology.
Indian Space Research Organisation assisted Tele-Medicine services are available for networking with other major hospitals and medical colleges in the state which will soon be extended to the national and international levels.
