  • I lived here. They threatened me with eviction many times if I didn't take my Canadian Flag off my balcony. The rent is high and they're obviously not patriotic. The rent went crazy high while I was living there $1225/month for a 2 bedroom in 2008.
  • "DON'T MOVE HERE". This place right now is terrible, all the homeless people get their beer across the street and drink it in our stairways as well as urinate there when they want to relieve themselves. I too have tried to call the office and got no answer on the phone even their security number and ended up phoning CPS to get people out of the stairways. Bruce the complex manager is a complete idiot as far as I'm concerned and also a two faced ....... Right now we don't have any elevator service. This building is 25 floors high with people in wheelchairs and walkers and all Bruce has to say is use the stairway. They lie about when it will be fixed, Bruce saying it should have minimal usage in about an hour, but the elevator guy says maybe 2 or 3 days. I would hate to see EMS trying to get someone out of here in an emergency. I have talked to residence who have been suing them because the elevators sometimes close on you with no notice and the sensors don't work properly so you end up with a broken arm or separated shoulder. We have lived here for 11 years and will be leaving as soon as our lease is up. We're in our 60's and no way can we walk up and down 54 flights of stairs every time we want to go out or to work. We have already missed two days and today will be three and we will be seeking council today to get restitution for it. We have had a water leak in our kitchen wall where it meets the ceiling for 10 of the 11 years we have been here and they have finally fixed it recently. They will bang at your door and when you answer it just run in your apartment without even introducing them selves to look for a problem with water leaking or anything else. Then go from room to room checking out everything. You have no privacy. Between the CP trains and emergency services going by with sirens screaming you don't sleep very well either and we're on the north side away from everything. There is no ventilation in the hallways or elevators (When they work) so it is not only very hot all the time but you get to smell what everybody is cooking. At least once every 2 weeks the water will be shut off cause there is another leak. They don't want to pay overtime to the plumber so if it happens on a Saturday then it'll have to wait till Monday to get fixed. They had to tear a wall apart to replace the drywall as it was soaking wet one time and when they opened up the wall, it was full of MOULD. They did nothing except cover it back up with drywall. So the haelth hazard is still there. I could go on forever with excuses not to move here but, Bottom line is DON'T MOVE HERE
  • I agree totally with B.M. This place is TERRIBLE. The management in the office have to all be replaced.. Bruce is an idiot and two faced.. Doloris is the most unfriendly person I know... I have even gone as far as to call head office and got no where there either... I think WRE DEVELOPEMENT LTD just want ur mo ey and don't give a damn about the residents.. I know if I was a building owner the staff I hired would be nothing but professional and friendly because they reflect me and my business.. I see WRE DOES NOT THINK THE SAME. I was basically told that I do not know what I am talking about... Larry with RWE SHOULD BE A RENANT IN HIS OWN BUILDING. Doesn't know what I am talking about- yeah right,I have only lived her for over 10 years. @Jon...... If u had ur balcony filled with garbage bags u would be okay, heaven forbid u hang a flag..I have seen balconies that have chicken wire and others that u would think the balcony is their own personal garbage bin.. Makes no sense to complain because it falls on deaf and stupid ears....
  • JANUARY 2014 DO NOT IGNORE THESE REVIEWS AND MOVE TO CONTINENTAL TOWERS!!! I am a single female professional who made the mistake of moving into this building 9 months ago. As I was cleaning the apartment my first night there, I was horrified to discover cockroach eggs in my kitchen drawers, as well as dead cockroaches in the kitchen cabinets. After 11pm every night, my apartment would be taken over by live cockroaches crawling everywhere. I called an exterminator at my own expense and he documented all of the above in a report, including cockroach feces all over the kitchen walls. Turns out that 3 units on my floor were cockroach infested...but later on, I discovered cockroach traps behind every washing machine in the basement, which was not an encouraging sign. Took the landlord to court and was awarded a small sum of money for loss of enjoyment of the premises, but my lease was not broken, even though the judge is on transcript saying that she could not live in such conditions herself. To this day, my belongings are still in their original moving boxes from 9 months ago and I have not unpacked. On two separate occasions, tenants have called Alberta Health Services to the building. The first time was regarding cockroach infestations and the unsanitary condition of the garbage chute room (cigarette butts all over the floor, onion peel, chicken bones, etc.) The second time was regarding the unhygienic condition of the building's stairwells. As mentioned below, the homeless regularly bring their beer into the building and sleep in the stairwells and laundry room, taking people's clothes that have been left in the machines overnight. The stairwells are littered with used condoms and syringes, cigarette butts, discarded booze bottles, and previous tenants' mail that has been opened in the hopes of finding something of value inside. In the past 6 months, there have been 5 water shutoffs. These water shutoffs last a full day 9am-5pm and each time, management leaves a last-minute note for tenants near the elevators, advising them to collect and store enough water for toilet flushing, washing up, etc.. as if we are living in a third world country. For the record, we are paying over $1,000 in rent per month. In general, the building is old and very poorly maintained. Ventilation is inadequate, the hallways are always hot, and you can smell what every tenant is cooking, as well as hear them in your apartment every time they open and close the taps and run the water in their units. Speaking of water, many tenants have had problems with water infiltration in their units, leading to flooding and damage to their belongings. Not surprisingly, management has recently required all tenants to purchase tenant's insurance before moving in. Many tenants also have difficulty getting back their security deposit when they move out, with management making outrageous deductions for normal wear and tear (ex. $300 deducted for carpet cleaning). Needless to say, I will not be renewing my lease at Continental Towers and I am eagerly counting down the 3 months I have left in this dump and very much looking forward to moving into a building where the only thing management doesn't manage is their own pay check!
  • I was living that house. Elevator was so bad. Management never look up that. when things are not working, they always come after few days. I had one year contact and last month they charged me 1325 dollars without asking me. I had also deposit 1250 dollars and they cut 350 dollars for not cleaning the carpet which I did from a professional, and another things missing blinds which never missing. who ever was checking with me they lie and I tried to contact with the management and they never call me back. I hope people will have an idea what type of Building is it
  • Hello. I was injured by Freight Elevator on November 09, 2017 in this building. Could you please provide details about the court case where the resident of the building was injured. Please.
