Hot springs feed rivulets which fill up ponds - all that has a great, scenic beauty.
Thee are several monuments in the park including that to Dr.Von Baelz, "father" of the Kusatsu resort and of the modern Japanese medicine and balneology; also there are several temples, a "demons' kettle" pond (you can hear the distinct sound of boiling water if you are just near it, and a "demon's sumo ring" where the demons are supposed to wrestle on their special occasions. The Visitor's Center and the famous Sainogawara Open-Air Bath are also located in the park.
