  • I visited the place last week. it is clean and very peaceful. the people are very warm. if you want to take a rest from a hectic schedule in the city, this is a place to go.....
  • A lesson in History 101. "Talingting" is the original name of the town. It has been for some time when it was still a barrio of Larena. The name is not a derivative of "Enrique Villanueva" as it is being hinted... i.e., "Talingting, for short". The name was changed from Talingting to Enrique Villanueva in 1933, to honor the Congressman who sponsored the Legislative Act for the separation of the town from the municipality of Larena. That Congressman was, Enrique Villanueva. In the late 1980's, after the Martial Law, another Legistlative Act was sponsored and passed, to revert the name back to its original. Officially, at present, the name of the town is Talingting. The place is Paradise, like anywhere else in Siquijor Island.

  • I'm proud to introduce and promote this magnificient municipality of "Talingting". The population is less that makes a whole lot of difference in comparison to the so called City. The culture and most of all the Peace Loving residents has no comparison anywhere around the world. This is my own opinion based of what i personaly witness from Africa, Australia, Europe, South/North America, Middle East,Easterm Europe and countries in Asia. None no where close to be the place to retire. This is it, the awesome "Talingting".
