Designed by noted Modernist architect Philip Johnson, this building was opened in 1978 and is also known as the General American Building. It has been completely vacant since General American Insurance moved out the last of their employees in 2004. Despite it's young age, the building is on the National Register of Historic Places. The building has 128,000 square feet but lacks on-site parking.
When viewed from above the building seems square, but the northwestern half of the building is elevated well above ground level and the space beneath it is open to the sidewalks.
The building is currently on the sales market.
