Pragues Main Railway Station (Czech: Praha hlavní nádraží, abbreviated to Praha hl.n. or Hlavní nádraží) is the busiest passenger train station in the Czech Republic.

It is a 5-10 minute walk from the city centre (Wenceslas Square) and easily accessible by underground train (Metro) or tram. Most long-distance trains start or terminate here, as well as certain suburban routes (to Benešov and Beroun). Trains which do NOT go to this station include direct international Eurocity trains from Budapest to Berlin, which stop at Praha Holesovice, and suburban trains to Kolin, Kralupy nad Vltavou, and Kladno, which go from Praha Masarykovo nadrazi.

The station has a bad reputation from the alcoholics, beggars and other homeless people living there. Walk quickly, and watch your belongings both at the station and in the park outside.

Comments

  • Very bad organizations. Timetables in the main hall do not correspond to timetables on the platform - you might as well lose your train as you can get one information on the main information board and a completely different information on the platform. Keep away - use the buses! (cheaper and more organized)
