Smithfield Poultry Market

Meat has been bought and sold at Smithfield for over 800 years, making it one of the oldest markets in London. A livestock market occupied the site as early as the 10th century.

The neighbouring buildings are also part of the market.

Last chance to see . . . On the picture you can see Ove Arup's stunning shallow-domed concrete roof, built after fire damage to the original building in the 1950s. Demolition of this whole range of buildings has now been agreed. Only the larger market building to the right will survive a forthcoming orgy of destruction. Apparently, London still does not have enough faceless office blocks and another one is needed.

I believe it's actually the builds further to the west of the Poultry markets (the ones bounding Farringdon st) that are being demolished (and yes there are planned to be office blocks built) according to this:
