Nanwalek, AK (a.k.a. English Bay)

Nanwalek changed its name from English Bay in 1991.

The village was originally the site of a Russian trading post called Alexandrovsk. It was later called "Odinochka". Nanwalek is a traditional Alutiiq village with a subsistence hunting and gathering lifestyle.
