Sammatti church

The present church of Sammatti was built in 1754-1755, and is oblong in shape. It has been enlarged in 1879, and restored several times in the 19th century. The altarpiece was donated by Elias Lonnrot who compiled the Finland's national epic, the Kalevala. The belfry was built in 1763, and the granary is from the 18th century.
