'kaitharath' is the place of origin of new generation kaitharans, mentioned above and is situated 16 kms away from aluva town. it is the proposed place to build a small house as per 4 kaitharans' dream.

it is believed that grandfathers of kaitharans' came from kodungalloor, along with st. thomas, in AD 52, on his way to malayattoor and settled at kuthiathodu as per His decision. so kaitharans locally known as KODUNGUKARAN (means those who came from kodungalloor).

josthomas kaitharan working as stores-in-charge, at omani euro food industries, muscat. leenakaitharan (leenet fernandez) working in life insurance corporation of india as aao. jeevan kaitharan, after completing his b.tech. in automobile engineering from scms school of enginering and technology, joined hertel msl., kingdom of bahrain. jelitta kaitharan is studying b.com. at b.c.m. college, kottyam.

'kaitharath' comes under st. thomas old church, north kuthiathodu, one of the ancient r c church in ernakulam district, and belongs to kunnukara panchayath, ernakulam district.

more than 100's of kaitharans are there in this small village.

basically kaitharans are farmers. eventhough some of them are doing their own business in kerala & karakkal. they are also working in private and public sector undertakings in mumbai, kerala and gulf countries like abu dhabi, behrain, oman, qatar, saudi arabia etc.
