This enormous Body of water is the famous Maithon Dam Reservoir on the river Barakar. It was established and now maintained by the Damodar Valley Corporation.Recently it completed its 50th anniversary.

  • On 1 of jan'08 I went there . It is just a home tourist spot for me .when ever I go there I fell really nice .I think this is the best spot in close. so I suggest all of u that every body should go there means MAITNON.

  • It the greatest place i have ever been to, come, see and m sure u will be overwhelmed with its beauty, temperature drops 5 degrees as soon as you enter this space. It looks good in Summers, in Winters and the most in Rainy Season.
  • I am traveller from Nepal. I am wishing to visit Maithon and Masanjore Dam in July 2019. I will come to Bhagalpur and then Vikramshila. I would like to go to Devghar for darshan, too. Can you suggest me where I can stay at/ear Vikramshila, Masanjore and Devghar? I stay in the most ordinary, thus most economical, hotels. (I have visited almost all major cities, Hindu pilgrimage sites in northern, western and eastern India. Proud of that!)
