Originally Seascape Restaurant, a seafood restaurant that was quite fashionable when it opened in the 1960's that fell on hard times 40 years later as it aged poorly.

Featured on the 4th episode off the first season of Kitchen Nightmares USA the restaurant was given a makeover, but then sold by the owners shortly there after (apparently cashing out the value added by the show appearance). It was renamed The Coast after this but disappeared.

  • After all that work on that episode that Ramsey put into making that restaurant come back to life, then the owner sells it... I feel slapped in the face for Chief Ramsey. I guess the owners mom was right. He is still too scared to stand up and maintain the restaurant. Sold his fathers restaurant and stayed a coward.
  • "After all that work" What work? A few days? Compare that to the years of work required to keep it going. You're clearly not a business owner. There are a lot more variables than that! I like Ramsay, but do you have any idea how bad the show's track record is? Look at what "all his work" has accomplished: Handlebar, New York – closed Giuseppi’s, Michigan – closed Trobiano’s, New York – closed Black Pearl, New York – closed J Willy’s, Indiana – closed Hannah & Mason’s, New Jersey – closed Jack’s Waterfront, Michigan – closed Sabatiello’s, Connecticut – closed Fiesta Sunrise, closed Santé La Brea, California – open Cafe 36, Illinois – closed And that's just season 2. It takes more than a brief visit from a celebrity chef and a pep talk to keep a business open. There are countless variables... sometimes you just have to close down or lose EVERYTHING. Most of these places should have just closed down and saved money rather than riding it out to the end. Ramsay has helped bankrupt more people than he's saved... or at least his producers have.
  • Just as well. That place was a dirty dump. It was obvious they put little work into it
  • I second your comments completely. After Chef Ramsey's makeover & consultation - if the restaurant owners do not embrace the change, they will obviously fail as they were already going to before Chef Ramsey arrived.
  • Ramsey/producers didn't bankrupt these places. They were already in trouble when he got there. Ramsey gave them a shot in the arm, but these places wre already on a downward spiral and they couldn't change their bad management. That is why they closed. Not Ramsey.
