atoll, uninhabited island
Anuanuraro (also Anuanu Raro) is an uninhabited atoll in the Duke of Gloucester Islands group of French Polynesia.
The interior lagoon is entirely enclosed by the fringing reef, with no navigable straits.
The government of French Polynesia bought the Atoll back from a private owner in 2002. The now-abandoned airfield was built by the previous owner in 1982.
