Dehli School and College Karachi (Gulbarg Town) | university college

Pakistan / Sind / Karachi / Gulbarg Town
 school, university college

Delhi Govt. Boys/Girls Primary/Secondary School was very famous and respected school in Karachi it was founded by Sodagaran-e- Dehli but later it was nationalized by the BHUTTO govt.

This school is located in Karimabad, Karachi. It has produced a lot of brilliant students, who topped in the Karachi Matric (SSC) and then Intermediate (HSC) Board and proved themselves in their professional fields.

Dehli School was one of the best schools until early 90's, it was not only a shining start in academics but also in the extra curriculum activities like indoor out door games, debates, scouting, girls guide, junior brigade etc.
In 80's and the early 90's the Principal at that time was Mr. Shamsi who has been the main reason of all these success and achievements of this school. He was a very strict man and he had excellent administrative skills.Today it is operating but the its performance is not same as in the past.

  • This is where I studies my intermediate and now some bunch of bad people has locked up this whole school and college for some reasons.
  • I passed my intermediate exam from Dehli college in 1983, it was one of the top college in Karachi, not sure that what is standard now?
  • Irfan Qaiser: Studied PP-I, PP-II, 1 to 10 (passed out in 1990) and then completed intermediate from Delhi college. So in all spent 14 years in this area. Cannot forget the 'CHARI' of Mr Asrar Ahmed Shamsi :-) He was a great asset for this school.
  • Who can forget Karim ke chaat, Haleem Roti, Abba Ji, the bus driver of our school bus. I used not to sit in the bus but to stand in the driver compartment during my way back to home with my cousin on the other side of the driver. Still have some glimpses from when I enterd this great instituion in class II till I passed matric in 1986, brought along some very close friends, many of them are still very fast friends and we get together often. What I can offer as tribute to great teachers in Delhi School. What I am is because of them, no doubt. But after Sir Shamsie, things got changed there, I have seen some recent pictures, sent by my cousin and I realy feel sorry about the current conditions.

  • i have studied grade 1 to grade 10th. And sorry to say that school sucks, education is not as good as compare to other private school. No attention to kids at all 100 of students sits in one class. I feel sorry for those students who really wants to learn but because of poor education and lack of attention teacher can't focus on each students. Sorry i think someone needs to stand up and change the system for government schools. Stop teaching English Alpabets book to 6th grade students. They have learned that in primary school. Stop that nonsence. A for Apple is not going to take them anywhere they should learn the real books a 12 year old child has brain and they consider smart teach them good stuff so they get better in real world.
