Wide stretch of the Thunder Bay River created by the the 9th Avenue Dam. The original course of the river through this area continued from the upstream entrance to the present lake northeast to the western/northern shore of the present lake, then looped south to the eastern/southern shore of the present lake near the intersection of Minor Street and 13th Avenue, then followed the present shoreline easterly and southerly to the downstream exit from the present lake.
