Some of the best views in the city can be seen from Simonds Loop, located on the east side of the park on a hillside between the Lombard and Presidio Gates. Built from 1940 to 1943 by the Works Progress Administration (WPA), 30 Simonds Loop homes are stucco-finished duplex units with Mission tile roofs, many with spectacular views of the bay. Each duplex has a formal dining room and a master suite. One single family home in the neighborhood features five bedrooms, large living and formal dining rooms, and a master suite.
